Love Dogs Love Animals Love Nature !!

Hi All !!
I hope you are in great health and enjoying a prosperous time.
Hmm... It's tough to get a good job profile these days.... supply overcome demand... As, I am still enjoying my unemployment days... I was browsing through my collection of videos, that were shot exclusively by me during my MBA days. I developed a keen interest in photography and video shooting in course of my just completed MBA. It was a nice relaxing activity against tough MBA schedule. I would like to share an incident and a video (which I consider the best video ever shot by me).
When I was in 2nd semester of MBA, me and my friends used to take a evening walk around our campus. A female dog used to walk along us, right from our Hostel gate to the outskirts of Hostel area. In took no time that we developed an affection for her and starting feeding her with bread, milk etc frequently. By the time, I advanced to 3rd semester, she gave birth to 4 little cute puppies, who in no time became center of attraction of my hostel mates. Me and my friends, specially Dr. Vishav Prakash(having a pet dog in his home), became a bit emotionally attached to those little nature's gifts. Every evening we use to play with them, feed them, do stupid but enjoyable acts etc.
One afternoon, when we were back from our college after attending our MBA classes, we saw one of the puppies was wounded badly around his neck (perhaps injured by some male dog), it was a lethal injury and an urgent action was needed to save his life. My friend Dr. Vishav Prakash being a doctor by profession and owner of a pet dog, wasted no time and brought stuff required for his immediate medication.
Below you can find the video (youtube link) shot by me, in which Dr. Vishav Prakash, his little brother and my another friend Maniram Tanwar dressing that little wounded puppy.

Youtube - Love Animals Love Nature !!

When we were leaving our MBA hostel, after the completion of MBA program, seeing that little puppy in good health and playing with his brothers was an extraordinary feeling and a sense of achievement that indeed is a value addition to my MBA. I wish him all the good health and enjoyable life.
My main motive behind sharing this incident is to spread the message that not only humans but also the animals are children of Nature. Every single soul has his own existence and importance in this world, we need to understand that our superior ability is the gift by nature so that we can help the poorer souls/animals to make this world a Global Home to every single soul/character.
Cheers !!

Reservation Policy/Politics in India : It hurts

Reservation Policy in India needs to be rectified or modified on urgent basis. Reservation policy in India is on the basis of caste rather than financial basis.

It is assumed that SC/ST/OBCs are unable to receive good quality education and enjoy other facilities due to scarce financial condition and hence enjoy around 50% reservation quota in education, jobs etc. In addition to that, they get a handsome rebate in their fees, bills etc.

I am not against any caste, in turn I rate every human being equally. My point is that a poor "General" category candidate is as poor as a poor "SC/ST/OBCs" category candidate, but he/she doesn't enjoy any reservation benefit. Why ??

Also in an entrance exam (whether for education or jobs), over 80% candidates belong to "General" category and rest are from reserve category. But due to our reservation policy, both of them enjoy equal 50% share in seats/final selection. Now is it fair that 80% "General" candidates and 20% "Reserve" candidates share equal percentage of seats ??

Ideally there should be no reservation, for me reservation stands for biasing, let the best man get the job. Ok, I agree with the point of providing assistance to the poor candidates but then it must be equal for all the poor candidates rather than based on caste.

I think some of the politicians are confused and they play reservation cards to build their vote bank etc rather than to eradicate the real problem i.e. to provide quality life to all. Reservation policy should be based on financial condition rather than caste. Every poor candidate must enjoy the benefit and ratio of reservation should be in accordance with the percentage of applicants.

I hope somebody responsible person may read this blog and try to understand my point of view and take this communication further to next level of fruitful discussion.

14 most effective ways to save money in day to day life.

In this very hard time, there are many easy ways to cut costs without giving away any of the services we are availing. Actually, following tips are very simple, easy to do and will tell us that, a smart little work can save us thousands.

  1. Credit Card : Make the most of interest free period. Get petrol, gas, pay bills through it but remember to pay back on time, avoid late payments at all cost. It will give you some cash back and reward points too. Control yourself, and shop only what you can pay from your pocket. Setup a monthly standing payment order or direct debit that will cover your minimum payment.

  2. Don't buy Ulips, instead buy mutual funds and get insured separately. Ulips are Mutual Fund + Insurance. So, buy a good mutual fund and get insured from a govt. insurance company separately. Govt. companies will ensure your return, even in bad times. Also, ulips comes with the limitations of spending a fixed amount again and again for three years. Such limitations will not be there, if you buy Mutual Funds and Insurance separately.

  3. Invest your 70% of savings in govt. FDs and RDs. This will ensure a fixed guarantee return for at least 70% of your savings. This percentage can be reduced to 50%, if markets are at their lows, and there are good signs for recovery. Mutual funds of good companies are better option than to buy shares of one or two companies. Company's share can fall badly in a day but mutual fund can't fall that bad in a day.

  4. Don't spend too much on songs, movies, softwares. They are freely available on internet. If you have a good internet connection, download them. Don't care too much of words like piracy etc. In this mean and imperfect world, some things can be ignored.

  5. If you can, take your lunch from home to your work. Avoid eating outside, prepare and eat meal at home only. Believe me, it will save you a lot of money at the end of the month. Use this money to buy fruits, juice etc.

  6. Try to have some of your clothes from budget shop etc. It sounds cheap but sometimes you get the best deals in these kind of shops. It will save you a lots of money. Don't overbuy, wear your same cloth at least thrice or four a month. Do the little sewing or fixing jobs by your own, don't make habit of visiting a tailor for every little work. If your t-shirt has teared off a bit, then buy a fancy patch from market and fix it on the teared portion, believe me, it will look nice and trendy more than before.

  7. Buy energy efficient certified and power saving electrical appliances. Try to use solar appliances in your home. This will cost more at start but proves to be money saving in the long run. Make a habit of turning off lights when not used. Completely switch off your computers, TVs etc. instead of putting them on standby mode. In standby mode, appliances still consumes lots of electricity. Use solar heaters, solar bulbs on roof etc.

  8. If you are a good magazine reader and used to buy editions from bookshop, then instead subscribe magazines with 3 to 5 years subscription offers. It will cost you much less and along with you will get some free gifts.

  9. Get a phone card to make international calls. Use services like yahoo messenger, skype, vonage, VOIP etc. to call your friends or family, they are free / very cheap and easy to use. Use emails, as they are free and instant.

  10. If you have colleagues at work who live nearby then setup a car pool. Turn off your car at every Traffic Light, drive at an economy speed of 45 - 60 km/hr.

  11. If you are in good MNC, then look for employee referral schemes, if you can bring good skill people to your company then it can bring some good amount to your pocket too.

  12. Try to increase your source of incomes like giving tutions, garage sales, selling product on ebay, become agent of some insurance company, have some part time agency, try for visiting faculty job in a good educational institute, look for some freelance projects, make blogs or forums online and earn through google adsense etc. There are many educational sites online. Join them as a tutor or teacher or mentor, and help others in solving their problems. This can be a good pocket money.

  13. Always remain involved in any part time or distance educational course, the more certification or vocational training courses you do, the more chances are there for your promotions in your career. There are very cheap but effective courses available from different universities. These value additions will help you in job switching too.

  14. One must teach his/her children too, the importance of money. Stop them from being over demanding, don't let them to build the habit of over spending, don't fulfill their every unnecessary demands etc. Also if their school is near to house, buy them bicycles instead of availing of school bus. This will also create a feeling of independence in them. College guys/gals must earn their pocket money in summer vacations by their own.

I think following above simple and easy to implement ways, one can wisely save, generate and invest money. This will prove to be a good protection from the danger of being in situations like of money, out of control bills etc. Hope this points help someone to schedule their money related activities.....

9 Most Effective and Easy ways to Quit Smoking

This post of mine is for both smokers and non-smokers. Smokers, by reading this article, of course can workout the ways to quit their smoking and Non-Smokers can do some volunteer work to eradicate such a bad deed.

I will not go into the details of explaining "What is smoking", "How it is dangerous" etc..

One essential thing which is required is "Strong Will to Quit Smoking", I request whatever way you will choose, it should be followed in strictly disciplined manner and remember, there is no exception or excuse which is acceptable.

After every point, I have written a goal. This goal is important and you should try to achieve this goal at any cost.

So here it goes..

1. Firstly you should make a routine of drinking atleast 1 litre of water at a go, right after you get up and fresh up in the early morning. Then you should walk around for half an hour, and then go to flush again. At this time your body will try to flush out all the nicotine any other poison. This will help you to decrease the level of temptation for smoking coming from the body. Drink as much fluid as you can during the day. Your goal is to flush out all poison from the body.

2. It is wrong to think that whenever you are in some kind of tension or similar problem, then smoking is the way to reduce it. Infact it will make your mind dull and you will not be able to workout the way to overcome your problems. By smoking you can ignore the problem but you can't reduce it. Best way is to make a habit of drinking a cup of herbal tea or coffee or juice whenever you are in tension and feel like smoking. This will neither make your mind dull nor harm your body. You will be able to workout your problem in much better way. Your goal is to change your habit of smoking while you are in tension.

3. There are many chewing gums available in market which are made for some useful purposes like whitening teeth, gum exercises, reduce bad smell etc. Instead of a packet of cigar, these chewing gums should be there in your pockets. Whenever you feel like of smoking, chew one gum ball. In this way, not only you will avoid smoking but also you will make your teeth and gums stronger. Your goal is to remove the packets of Cigar or Cigarettes from your packets.

4. Smoking is not a symbol of status or show off, it's a worse thing to do. Please throw out this myth from your mind that by smoking expensive cigars, you are becoming popular or so.... If you think like this, then there are many other equally easier ways to get attention or show off's like get well dressed and wear attractive accessories, have a glass of juice in your hand instead of cigarette etc..... By smoking you can't justify your attitude and standard. Your goal is to leave smoking for just show off.

5. People near the smoking person get more affected then the person himself. Study shows if a smoker regularly smoke near a non-smoker than non-smoker gets more severe health problem than the smoker himself. Whenever you smoke in your house, please remember your child and parents face, by smoking nearby them, your are actually making their life short and ill. Your goal is to leave while at your home.

6. Take part in some volunteer program. With the help of nearby kids, arrange and take part in some volunteer Non-Smoking programs in your locality. Stop Smoking and aware others about the ways to quit the smoking. Your goal is to teach yourself all the time that smoking is bad and become comfortable against smoking.

7. Arrange a small educational tour with kids to any Cancer Hospital, where people are fighting with the cancer due to smoking . This tour will help you and kids to understand the live dangerous life taking effects of smoking and will always help to develop the internal power of resistance towards smoking. Your goal is to see the truths and dangerous life taking effects of smoking.

8. Don't think to leave the smoking in slow and gradual way, leave it at once. To leave a bad habit, today is the only the day. Slowly you can't leave the habit of smoking, because it's very tempting, you have to prepare yourself at once only. Either now or never. It will have hurdles but it's the only way to do. Your goal is not to leave a single chance that tempt you back to smoking.

9. Don't ask your child to buy cigarettes from the markets. This is the most cruel thing a parent can do to his/her child. If you ask your child to buy cigarettes from the market for you, then you are a criminal because you are showing a way to child that will lead him/her to very unhealthy life. Also it will give them wrong impression that smoking is good because my parents do that in front of our eyes. Remember a child follows his/her parent, whatever a parent do, a child will definitely try that. Your goal is not to spread the bad evil that you are trying to loose.

For leaving habit like smoking, you need to strengthen your self-belief. No person or no institution can help you in this regard. It's all upto you to choose the way to live life "Healthy" or "UnHealthy". Remember your life is very precious, not only for you but also for your family and friends, don't waste it.......

Please do post your comments or queries.......

Global Warming : Cause, Challenge and Campaign

Global warming is the increase in the average measured temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans.

Major Consequences:-
  • The massive ice sheets in the Arctic are melting at alarming rates which will lead to destructive catastrophes like floods, hurricanes etc.
  • As temperature rises, disease-carrying mosquitoes and rodents will spread and infect people badly
Following two great e-books (free to download) explain the various aspects of Global Warming.

The Challenge of Global Warming

The Challenge of Global Warming, edited by Dean Edwin Abrahamson, summarizes the scientific aspects of the greenhouse effect and climatic change, explains why the issue is important, and shows that there are measures which, if implemented soon, can reduce the social, economic, environmental, and political impact of changing climate.

Global Warming: What You Can Do
Global Warming: What You Can Do, By Stephen Ewings, explains many ways by which we can reduce the impacts of Global Warming, some very simple whilst others require a more focussed approach.
